What about the SCIENCE?
We get it. There’s just a wee little bit of history around Cannabis in the United States.
And Cannabis—specifically marijuana—is still illegal, for human recreational use at least. Well, in some states…
Both hemp and marijuana are members of the Cannabis family of plants.
So…yes, it IS confusing. Know this: we aren’t talking about marijuana for pets. We’re talking about hemp. Hemp for pets.
The thing is, clinical trials on the potential health benefits of the Cannabis plants and the natural cannabinoids found in them are limited. Limited for humans. And even more limited for companion animals.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of Cannabis as a treatment for any medical condition.
Even so, the NCI has shared what they suspect cannabinoids may do for humans…
The Cannabis plant produces a resin containing compounds called cannabinoids, in addition to other compounds found in plants, such as terpenes and flavonoids.
There is general agreement that chemical components of cannabis, called cannabinoids, activate specific receptors throughout the body to product effects in the central nervous system and the immune system.
The non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid, terpene and flavonoid profiles extracted from industrial hemp that we use in Healthy Hemp Pet Company products appear to have health benefits when used by companion animals.
Anecdotal evidence also suggests that phytocannabinoids from industrial hemp may help to support overall health by reducing aggression, anxiety and behavior problems though this has not yet been studied in companion animals.
Our products have helped our companion animals. We thought they might help yours too.
